april-in-paris.jpgI wake; I look at the clock. It's 4:04am.

Oh my, this is fantastic! I'm wide awake in the middle of the night two nights in a row.

Stephen says, "You just over stimulated." No kidding. Yes, I am just over stimulated. But that's at the heart of it isn't it? Overly sensitive people usually are "over stimulated."

I need calm. I need peace. I need to push the "off" button. Where did it go?

Shhhhhh...I've misplaced it the "off" button.

How on earth is this all going to turn out if I can't get my beauty rest?  I need some coffee.

Oh... and to add insult to injury, I am actually contemplating a swift trip to Europe in the near future to help my Mother clear out my Grandfather's apartment. At this point I really want to get on an airplane just about as much as I would enjoy some major dental surgery.

Airplanes "over stimulate" me.

Still, a trip to Europe, even for practical purposes, might go a long way to refresh my freeze-dried, winter caffeine-insomniated spirit.  Oh good, now I'm making up words and I actually think I'm hearing Rosemary Clooney sing "April In Paris" in my head.

I'm hallucinating.

April in Paris
Chestnuts in blossoms
Holiday tables under the trees
April in Paris
This is a feeling
No one can ever reprieve

I never knew the charm of spring
Never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
Never missed a warm embrace

'Til April in Paris
Whom can I run to?
What have you done to my heart?

(E.Y. Harburg, 1932)

Actually, as far as hallucinations go, Rosemary Clooney singing "April In Paris" in your head is probably a pretty good place to start....or finish for that matter.

And so, a new day begins...

Sing it Rosemary!
