I sit at my dinning room table, herbal tea substituting for
my regular morning beverage. I'm in caffeine withdrawal and have been for more
than a week now. The headache is finally lifting, and I am starting to sleep a
bit better and with that some new clarity is beginning to arrive.
My singing days may be over.
I am 47 years old, soon to be 48 and an ongoing career in
music becomes increasingly less likely not to mention far less desirable. With
the way the music industry has been going during the past few years, there is
far less upside potential and more and more downside risk. With the impending
recession and the continued erosion of wealth around the world through the ongoing
downturns in the stock market, people will be cutting back on things like music
and entertainment. Combine this with the idea that music should be free there really
is very little incentive for anyone to create new music. The writing has been
on the wall for years, but now the wall is falling over.
All smart investors know that it's wiser to cut one's losses
rather than to insist on riding down a bad investment all the way to zero. The time has come for me to become a smart
investor. Ladies and gentlemen...my singing days are numbered.
And so, a new day begins...
