First of all I want to thank those of you who have been through the site already and special thanks to those of you who have already purchased music and have gotten behind the wheels of the shopping cart. Special thanks to Ann-Marie and Carol for having faith in me, when sometimes I lose it. For the time being this site remains in a trial period but it's important that you know that your visits actually help me to see how the site is performing; also, rest assured that the shopping cart is fully functional and that all financial transactions are handled at the highest possible level of security by PayPal. Those of us running thatmark.com never have access to any secure finanical information such as credit card numbers or PayPal account information. All of this is handled securely by PayPal. Because of the scope of this website and the learing curve that it involves, I consider it to be a work in progress. I am asking for your patience as I learn more about what "works" and what doesn't. Throughout my father's life he often said to me, "Mark, before you can run you must walk." I've always been a little ahead of myself and that has never been truer than with this project. I have to be careful now not to grow impatient with myself or the process. It is important that you know that I am the sole creator of this site that if something appears here, other than the comments left by you, it's because I have placed it here. There is no other webmaster, no other web designer or architect on this site. Just me. And that includes every graphic, every word, every sound file, so please be patient as I find my "website legs." Several of the songs, like "Straight To You", "Till You Believe", and "Simple But Not Easy" have been co-created with Robert Thomson and Valerie Hawkins, my number one songwriting partners. Check each individual song for its credits. At this point most of the preliminary structures of this website are in place. It is possible that the website might require viewers to drill a bit deeper than they are comfortable with to get the information they are looking for. I would appreciate your feedback on this as I know how important it is. Please email me your comments. I have yet to fill in the FAQ section. Most artists and creators tend to want to let the work speak for itself, sometimes forgetting that many people want to know more about the creators of the work. If any of you have any questions about me, my collaborators or this website please send your emails straight to me at the contacts page so I that I can include them in the FAQ section. I have made the all of the current songs available in full for auditioning purposes only, in both the music sections and the shopping cart. This may change in the future and I will be testing different levels of subscriber content, so what you might find is that on one particular day some things are accessible without a subscription, while on other days the same things may require you to register and log in. These sorts of "experiments will continue until the "official" launch of the site. When is the offical website launch? I am aiming for May 1, 2007, but will keep you posted as I firm up on this date. Things always take twice as long as I think they will. Why is that? Please know that any changes I make during this time are part of testing phase and part of my learning process. Of course one of my goals is to encourage readers to subscribe to the site. Hopefully this will be a two way relationship; you get to know something about me and some of my creative works and I get to know a little bit more about you as well. I look forward to your comments and input. Please don't hesitate sending your emails or comments straight to me. Thanks for your kind support, Mark Rosenbauer |
